How to protect yourself against the stress of the modern world? How to avoid going crazy? How to combine a socialist education with capitalist life? Are unselfish relations between people possible in a profit-driven society?
Many years after the fall of the Berlin Wall, this unique German-Russian theatre project sheds the light on what kind of expectations, hopes, and at the same time great disappointments people of the former Soviet Union and the Eastern Bloc had as capitalism entered their lives.
The project has been created by the famous theatre and film actor from Moscow Anatoli Kot and the director from Berlin, winner of the Tournesol award at the Festival d’Avignon-2017 Monika Dobrowlanska. It is based on N. Gogol’s story “Diary of a Madman” and on “Second-hand Time” by S. Alexievich.
